Legal Notices

Effective August 12, 2026

These Legal Notices provide professional, regulatory, and ownership information concerning the Athena website. They supplement Athena's Website Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

01

Responsible law firm

The law firm responsible for this website is:

Athena Circle, a Professional Law Corporation

California Entity No. B20260352606

345 California Street, Suite 600

San Francisco, California 94101

contact@athena.lawyer

Athena Circle, a Professional Law Corporation is a professional law corporation organized under California law. The firm operates under the name Athena. References on the website to "Athena," "the firm," "we," "us," or "our" refer to Athena Circle, a Professional Law Corporation unless the context expressly identifies another person or service.

The principal office listed above is the office responsible for the website. The website is intended to provide information about Athena's legal practice and related activities.

02

Attorney advertising

The website and materials available through it may constitute attorney advertising under the law and professional rules of some jurisdictions. Nothing on the website is intended as a guarantee, warranty, or prediction of a result.

Choosing a lawyer is an important decision. You should not make that decision solely on the basis of website content, an advertisement, a testimonial, an award, a ranking, or a description of a representative matter.

04

No attorney-client relationship

Using the website, reading or downloading content, submitting a form, sending an email, receiving a response, or communicating with an Athena lawyer does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.

Athena accepts a legal engagement only after completing its intake and conflicts procedures, agreeing to the scope and terms of representation, and entering into a written engagement agreement signed by Athena and the client. Unless those steps have occurred, you should not assume Athena represents you or will take action on your behalf.

05

Prospective clients and unsolicited information

Do not send confidential, privileged, time-sensitive, or detailed matter information through the public website or in an unsolicited email. Information sent before Athena accepts an engagement may not be treated as confidential or privileged to the fullest extent permitted by law and may not prevent Athena from representing another person whose interests are adverse to yours.

Nothing in this notice limits a duty imposed by applicable law or a rule of professional conduct concerning a prospective or current client. Existing clients should use the communication and file-transfer methods specified for their engagement.

Public website forms and ordinary email may be insecure, delayed, misdirected, or intercepted. Do not use them for service of process, a formal legal notice, an urgent deadline, or an instruction on which you expect Athena to act unless Athena has expressly authorized the method.

06

Professional admissions and jurisdictional limits

Athena lawyers are authorized to practice only in the jurisdictions in which they are admitted or otherwise permitted to practice. A lawyer's biography or direct communication identifies that lawyer's admissions. Website access from a jurisdiction does not mean that Athena or every Athena lawyer is authorized to practice there.

Legal services involving a jurisdiction in which an Athena lawyer is not admitted may be provided only as permitted by applicable law, which may include association with locally admitted counsel, temporary practice, or another authorized basis.

California lawyers are subject to the professional rules and regulatory authority applicable to their practice, including the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of California.

07

Specialization and practice descriptions

Unless expressly stated, no Athena lawyer is certified as a specialist by the State Bar of California or another professional or governmental authority. Practice-area descriptions identify experience and the types of services Athena may provide. They do not claim a legally recognized specialization or certification.

08

Prior results and representative matters

Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome. Every matter depends on its facts, applicable law, evidence, counterparties, decision-makers, client objectives, market conditions, and other circumstances.

Representative matters may be abbreviated, anonymized, aggregated, or described using a familiar name rather than a complete legal name. A matter may have been handled by a lawyer before that lawyer joined Athena. A description does not necessarily identify a current client, establish that Athena continues to represent a named person, or state every lawyer or firm that participated.

Client or matter information appears only as Athena believes permitted by applicable professional obligations and authorization. A client's inclusion on the website does not imply endorsement unless the website expressly states otherwise.

09

Testimonials, awards, and rankings

A testimonial reflects the experience and opinion of the person who provided it. It is not a guarantee that another person will have the same experience or obtain the same result.

An award, ranking, badge, or recognition is issued by a third party under that party's criteria, methodology, eligibility rules, and time period. Athena does not control those criteria. Recognition does not necessarily compare all lawyers or law firms, does not establish certified specialization, and does not guarantee quality or outcome.

Third-party names, marks, publications, awards, and rankings belong to their respective owners. A reference does not imply sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement unless expressly stated.

10

Lawyer biographies and firm information

Biographies, titles, roles, admissions, and contact information may change. A lawyer described on the website may have joined or left Athena, changed role, or become unavailable after publication. Contact Athena to confirm current status.

Descriptions of Athena's services, staffing model, fees, timing, technology, or experience are general. The scope, staffing, fee, and other terms for a legal matter are established only in the applicable engagement agreement or another signed writing.

11

Technology and artificial intelligence

Athena may use technology, including artificial intelligence tools, to support legal work and firm operations. Technology does not replace the professional responsibility of Athena's lawyers. Athena lawyers remain responsible for supervision, legal judgment, competence, confidentiality, communication, and compliance with applicable professional obligations.

The specific terms governing legal services, including any matter-specific technology use, are stated in the applicable engagement agreement and related client communications. Website descriptions of technology do not create a representation that a particular tool, workflow, security control, or delivery method will be used in every matter.

12

Publications, alerts, and educational materials

Publications, alerts, checklists, templates, presentations, and other educational materials are prepared for general informational purposes. They may summarize complex issues, omit exceptions, or become outdated. They are not written for your facts and do not establish a standard of care or a commitment to update.

A publication's views are those stated in the publication and do not necessarily reflect the views of a client, court, regulator, counterparty, or other person. A link to or quotation from third-party material does not mean Athena adopts every statement in that material.

15

Trademarks

"Athena" and associated names, logos, slogans, and design elements may be trademarks or service marks of Athena. Other names and marks appearing on the website belong to their respective owners. No Website use grants a trademark license except as applicable law expressly permits.

16

Accessibility and alternative formats

Athena aims to make its website and legal notices reasonably accessible. If you have difficulty accessing content or need a notice in an alternative format, email contact@athena.lawyer and describe the content and format requested.

17

Governing documents

Athena's Privacy Policy governs personal information covered by that policy. Athena's Website Terms of Use govern access to and use of the public website. An executed engagement agreement governs legal services and controls over these website documents with respect to those services.

If website content conflicts with a signed agreement between Athena and a client or another person, the signed agreement controls for its subject matter.
